I will ask around in my local musician community for someone to lend me the necessary hardware. But I don't recall the Bass POD XT having a socket fitting this hybrid cable, I only recall it having a USB and MIDI interface. I had until recently a Bass POD XT but unfortunately I sold it in favor of a Phil Jones Bass Buddy. My mistake is thus that I regarded the Variax Bass itself as a self-sufficient hardware (or it's Line6's mistake not to). Re: Connecting Variax Bass to computer/update firmware? By on 02: OK thanks. If you know someone with the correct type of Pod then that would be the cheapest route (or even a local shop might help). The cheapest option is the Workbench USB, but apart from reflashing your firmware you don't get any fancy editing tools like we have for the guitar one, so you will be paying quite a bit for a piece of hardware that just reflashes firmware, which may or may not solve your problem. Re: Connecting Variax Bass to computer/update firmware? By on 13: Well you need some hardware - Workbench USB, PodXT Live, PodX3 Live/Pro etc. Buy the Line 6 James Tyler Variax JTV-89F in Blood Red with Floyd Rose Trem at Andertons. Find great deals on eBay for Line 6 Variax in Electric Guitar.
